Sick the Week of a Competition
This weekend was a huge competition for my team. Unfortunately, on Monday I had to go home early because I had a really bad fever. I went to the doctor and they told me I had strep throat. I was supposed to be at practice Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday to prepare for our competition. I knew I really had to be at that practice because all practices the week of a competition are mandatory in order to take the mat with my team. I texted my coach and he said it was up to me if I went or not but he strongly encouraged me to go to practice because this was not the first time something like that had happened and he seemed not worried. This was when I had to use learning outcome 7 to consider the ethics of my decision because I did not want to get anyone else on my team sick as well as I knew I should rest ignorer to get better sooner. However, I did end up going to practice everyday because I knew that if I had not gone my entire stunt and the pyramid would not have been able to happen at the competition. If those thing could not happen at the competition then my team was assured to loose and all the practice since the summer would have been a waste. I am happy with the decision I made because my team's performance was the best we had done all season and we made our coaches very proud.
