Highlights Practice

Today I had a really fun practice with Highlights. Highlights is a special needs cheer team from my gym that I am an assistant coach for. I have helped with this team since 8th grade and it has been so amazing to watch these athletes grow in a sport that I love along with them. Todays practice was different though because it was the first time the head coach let me and one other girl completely run practice by ourselves. We have watched him do it for years but it was a little nerve racking for him to just step away completely. I feel like I address learning outcome 5 from this situation because me and the other girl were able to recognize how we could work together to lead this practice as organized and entertainingly as we could.
